1. ICE IT Ice is a great anti-inflammatory and local painkiller - put an ice pack wrapped in a tea towel over the pain for 5 minutes in every half hour.
Note: A hot water bottle makes it more inflamed!!
2. KEEP MOVING Move around as much as possible within your limits. This causes a good flow of healing blood to the area.
3. SPEED UP HEALING Rub natural inexpensive oils like arnica, lavender or tea tree on the affected area. All have world renowned healing properties and are readily available.
4. PEACE OF MIND If you are deeply worried by your pain see your doctor - that is what they are there for. It is always better to err on the side of caution.
5. RECOMMENDATION Ask your friends who they recommend. Always try to find a therapist who is personally recommended to you.
6. GET IT TREATED Get on the phone, get advice and get an active plan to get your life back. Do not waste time each day saying, “It will be gone tomorrow” –
do something about it today.
7. SAVE MONEY Use a therapist who can give you a clear idea of the problem, how long it will last, how many treatments you will need and whether it will return.
8. TRUST YOUR THERAPIST Once you have found someone to help you, trust him or her and follow his or her advice.
9. HOPE In most cases it is treatable, you do not have to suffer – YOU CAN HELP YOUSELF. A positive attitude to pain is a great turning point in self-healing - there is always hope.
10. REMEMBER There is always a way out of situations - the first step is the always the hardest but you must make it.
